- About My Library
- Leans towards none-fiction, e.g. memoirs, diaries, letters, bios, histories and the like. I like to tell pals that I have read all the letters and diaries of Virginia Woolf while never once finishing any of her novels. I have all the diaries of Ned Rorem which I find brilliant in every way, far better than his music.
I have been a mystery book reader since the reading the Doubleday complete Sherlock Holmes, after which my wife introduced me to Wilkie Collins and I was off to the races.
Love Victorian England, but even more Fin d'Siecle, and the artists within it. Love Vaughan Williams, not so much B. Britten.
I own the four volumes of De La Strange's "Mahler," and have read two of them; the fourth is 1700 pp!!
More, perhaps another day. - About Me
- I am in my 8th decade!! And still reading. :-) Mom got me my first public library card when I was 7 years old; the first book I took out was " - - - -Rides the Pony Express." I think the author was Stamford P Tousey. I am currently reading through Vol 31 # 19 o0f the London Review of Books. Some difference.
Oddly enough I found this site looking for an old erotic book I read some 50 years ago, "The Erotic Professor" by Clive Murray. Up until now I have never seen a reference to it, so I wanted to find out more. Had to join the site, so here I am. - Location
