- Catherine Smith spent forty years as a law firm administrator with a four year sojourn as a fulfillment manager in the direct mail industry. She is a lifelong seamstress and tailor and has been an award winning quilter for thirty five years. She has been awarded mayoral citations for her work in teaching quilting to the homeless and mentally challenged. She markets her custom museum quality quilts through her website nyquiltsmith.com. She is a retired member of the American Bar Association and the American Management Association. She has been recognized by her local senators for her community activism and championing of the causes of law and order and first amendment rights. She currently enjoys membership in political action committees and two national organizations concerned with first amendment rights. When her son married a vegetarian non cook she wrote a cookbook for the occasion. A current book is the result of the collaboration over five years of Catherine and her daughter in law, Donna Coogan.
