About my libraryWe are a family of book lovers, however, as my wife and daughters explain it, my stuff is boring (non-fiction history).

As you may have guessed, I collect items relating to the Panama Canal, hence my user name "pancanfan" (PANama CANal FAN).

My interest in the canal really started after reading David McCullough’s Path Between the Seas while being stationed in Panama years ago.

My collection tends to gravitate towards books, photographs, postcards, and ephemera relating to the construction period (pre-1914). I also collect items about the other isthmian canal projects such as the Nicaragua Route, Tehuantepec Ship-Railway, Atrato, etc.

I guess the girls are right... it does sound kind of boring as I type this, ha!
