About meI'm a public librarian specializing in youth services. I love to read, and I'm trying not to feel so guilty about it. Short of therapy, there's the Reader's Bill of Rights.

Books compete with movies and TV for my free time. I also enjoy bicycling, hiking, dancing, dog wrangling, and table tennis.

About my libraryI love my public library and try to avoid impulsive and wanton book buying. The books I acquired while studying linguistics and Italian at university make up the bulk of my home library.

Some of my less self-explanatory tags defined.

worked on - books I've been lucky enough to contribute to, usually in a proofreading capacity
inscribed - books I own that were presented to me with an inscription by the giver, or used books I purchased that had been inscribed in some past life
chewed - books that sustained damage during the trying early days of coexistence with my dog Maddy and that I haven't yet had the heart to discard
