About meThis is a joint library of two people:
Rick: reference librarian, hiker, paddler, gardener; major interests in 12 step & dharma practice, natural history, & history; have kept a file of books & authors read for over 50 years (which I'm NOT going to try to enter here!)
David: educator, youth advocate and author of “I Don’t Wish Nobody to Have a Life Like Mine: Tales of Kids in Adult Lockup” (Beacon Press) and "Tightfisted Heart". I've worked with at-risk teenagers for the past 40 years. My writings have appeared in the New York Times, Mother Jones and Education Next as well as other scholarly and literary journals. My website is www.kidsinthesystem.wordpress

About my libraryNo interest in fine book collecting, 1st editions, etc - we just like to own books of interest to us, regardless of value or format. Areas of interest: Rick - SF & fantasy, some horror/occult, natural history, fiction (esp. 19th century English), history (esp. ancient and English), essays, Buddhist (non-scholarly), selected mysteries (esp. English);
David - contemporary & 19th century literary fiction, mysteries, literary criticism, poetry, biography
