About My Library

The Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society (WPGS) Library is a non-circulating collection of materials made freely available to its members, as well as the general public, to aid in genealogical and Western Pennsylvania research. We specialize in, but not limited to, Allegheny County materials.

We are housed in the Family & Local History Department (3rd floor) of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh-Main, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh.

The library is accessible 9:30 am-8 pm, Monday through Thursday; 9:30 am-5 pm Friday through Sunday. Volunteers may not always be available.
