What I find fascinating about anthologies is that every poet writes from their own point of view and for that moment when reading their poem you get to see the world through another's eyes. These poems gave me a fascinating, tantalising glimpse into the inner workings of the countries of the Silk Road. The photographs in the book are beautiful too and made me want to jump on a plane and visit these spectacular places.

Poems I particularly liked were:
I particularly liked Aditya Shankar's poem, 'A Tree, My Age' written by a talented poet from India the sentiments in his poem is the same throughout the world.
One poem I found fascinating was Manuel Abis',The Philippine Cross-Stitch Society which was a very interesting piece.
The final poem I was very interested to read was 'Temple at Sunset' by John Lambremont Sr. based on his tour of Vietnam.

I recommend this anthology to everyone interested in high quality, contemporary world poetry.
This review was written by the author.
My first collection of the supernatural, gothic and horror.
Hope Springs A Turtle is a journey of hope through poems and photographs which have been collected from around the world. The work in this anthology has been collected from every continent of our planet and illustrates ideas of hope from many of the world religions. "Hope Springs A Turtle", looks at the different forms hope can take and how hope can always be found if you look carefully into the world which surrounds you.
This is a tumultuous, touching often endearing insight into the special relationship we have with our dog friends.
Here is one of my poems published in The Black Rose of Winter, an anthology featuring poems of heartbreak and beyond! Enjoy?!

Bistro Memories

The bistro bubbled
Glowed and sang
Tall necked glasses
Chimed as one.
Sunshine faces
Giggled loudly
Moonlight danced
Around the floor
Waitresses glide
By cluttered tables
Red lips bursting:
Berry flavoured promises
Caught your vacant eye
The wine arrived
As your heart left,
Flew across the floor
Hot face flickered
Watched girls move
In candlelight.
While wax dripped
Slowly, crashing down,
I melted from your life.

This poem is one of my rare romance/love ones published in The Gift of a Rose.

A Desert Rose

White Rose
Standing tall
Amid shimmering desert sands
Oasis of beauty
Amongst sharpest, razor rocks.
Beautiful. Defiant.
A beacon of purity shining
Amid the shifting sands.
Hidden and obscured
I crossed the rocks
Barefoot.
Vultures circled. Laughing
I believed in roses
Salt statues crumbled falling,
You smiled at me
Across the room
And I crossed
The world for you.

This means the poems are diverse, different and interesting.
The anthology is also illustrated with wonderful photographs.
