O'Connor is one of the most talented writers I have ever read. While her stories do tend to get a bit repetitive and dark, she is an unbelievably talented writer.
One only needs to read a few pages to see how she is able to convey to the reader vast amounts of information in very few words. A single sentence can deliver imagery, setting, and characterization all before the period ends.
You can't pass up a chance for humor and science fiction...done well. This is not an easy task and Adams does it wonderfully. Then, add to this marvelous element, the answer to mankind's ultimate question, "What is the meaning of life?"
How can you pass up on a novel like that?
While I did like the movie, there is nothing like reading the book. Bradbury is a true artist with language and imagery, drawing the reader in from page one. The Chronicles will take you on a timeless journey into the future.
