Currently reading this along with Educating Peter as I am trying to educate myself about wine... so I don't look like such a lush. "Mom's drinking again." It's research, dear. Reading them both together is actually helpful. Second labels and specific producer names and decoding wine lists. Living out in middle (beer drinking) America this is very helpful.
Perhaps the most amazing book I have ever read. Take the hour and read this rich novella.
Wow. I'm not finished yet, but it is certainly mking me re-think my life and my things.

A book for readers by a writer who clearly appreciates the joy and art of reading. Gothic and ghostly at time a bit gruesome even. Although the ending left me a bit [hmmm], the read was wonderful.

A "friend" recommended this book. I am still attempting to plow through it. .. Like his Lemony Snicket alias better.
A departure from Liss' other novels. Set in 1980's Florida, features a pig farm, rednecks, and a Jewish door-ro-door encyclopedia salesman. Did I mention the murder? Funny but can get a bit preachy (Liss himself is an admitted vegan.) Read his other novels first.
Edgar-awarding winning novel by an ABD in economics. Follows the story of a Jewish pugulist (I just wanted to type that word).
