Excerpt:
Nothing matters. The fact that the margins on this book are all fucked and it's about as easy to read as Kurt Kobain's suicide note does not matter. The fact that there is someone creeping outside my window with murderous intent does not matter. America rules the world and hot tubs are private enterprises for the rich and beautiful. Morals are an illusion we cling to, transmitted like a cultural STD. Anyone with a pondering mind or a college philosophy class knows better than to try to cling to archaic cut-outs like right and wrong. In this rather nihilistic truth there is a fatal logical flaw. We exist.
In order to continue existing, we need rules. Eat. Breath. Shit. Fuck. Die. Breed. Etc. Although these are the basic restrictions, we like to survive on other levels. Companionship. Humour. Loyalty. The list goes on. These are all things most people want and so most people get together and work out a sort of social average, a set of rules that aren't perfect for everybody but passable for the majority.
This is the flaw in cultural morality. Although it is a set of rules close to what each individual believes, it isn't perfect. There are grey areas where what I think and what my culture thinks are not equal variables. So I lean one way or an other and end up breaking some moral code, be it my own or my culture's.
That's when I'm fucked. I'm either guilty because I broke what I've been told to be true all my life or I feel shitty because I didn't go with my gut.
show more The solution? Fuck culture.
Fuck outdated systems developed by outcast prudes and corrupted by an equal distrobution of greed. Create for yourself your own law. Know it is right because it is right for you.
This is not easy and it is not hard. It just is. We all do it anyway, the difference here is to adhere to it. If someone tells you you are wrong, if someone mocks you using your system for you, fuck them. DO NOT WAVER.
This is not free-reign to do whatever the poopshit you want. You must always do what you know is right. At the end of the day be it in a tiny cell or your Peruvian estate, it is you who must answer to you and no one else. There is nothing worse than breaking your own code, you cannot hide from your conscience. Break your own rules, and they will destroy you. Uphold them and you are invincible.
Once again, everything is meaningless. So it is up to us to give it our own. Let's get started. show less
