This book is historical fiction. In this book it explains the life of a tennager fighting thruogh school whithout his best friend Rowley Jefferson. Greg Heffley (the main character) is in middle school with a bunch of weird kids. In the book it explains his life in diary form it is all first person. Greg goes through some tough time from losing his best friend to a bad housekeeper. at the end it all turns out good.
