It would be nice to have book covers in the RSS feeds of the recently added books, and the other RSS feeds that feature books as their content.

Interesting. I suppose there's no reason not to. Images can be in RSS feeds, even to sources outside the RSS feed's domain. Right?

#2 - yep. When I blog about books I've read, I generally use the amazon image, hosted on their servers, and they show up in my RSS feed.

Oh, I definitely second (third?) this request. Having covers in the review feeds would be wonderful.

Even more wonderful: a combined review feed for our member connections. I've added everyone's feed to my reader separately, but it'd be nice to get notifications when someone posts a new review.

Hey cool, I see book covers in my feed now! Thanks so much! You guys rock!

One small issue: the slash at the end of the image tag is pointing the wrong direction.

<img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0811859800.01._SX90_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg" style="float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;"\\>

Should be:

<img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0811859800.01._SX90_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg" style="float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;"/>

Thanks!

I've added images to reviews. I did it by adding an image tag at the start of the description. In theory, there's an RSS image tag, but it doesn't seem to show up anywhere I can find. The tag I used has the float-left attribute, which is sometimes respected and somtimes not. It looks good in Safari, not-so-good in FF and Google Reader.

Opinions wanted.

Uch! Fixed.

Cool! This is exactly what I was imagining when I asked for this.

Although the HTML version of the RSS page may need some love, at least on IE7.

When I navigate to the RSS HTML recent books the book entries sort of stack up on one another flowing down and to the right.

Another small issue: the word "by" in the post titles is now "bxy", a la

"The Birth of Venus bxy Sarah Dunant"

#9, it's kind of hypnotic. (I see the same on FF on XP, incidentally.)

More glaring to my eyes is the typo that means every book is shown as "$Title bxy $Author", rather than "$Title by $Author".

Sorry about that. I was trying to test if Google was refreshing the feed when I asked it to. (No.) I'll get rid of that. It may not refresh immediately.

Changed. RSS is now also internationalized, mostly. Anyway, the French feeds will use "par" not "by" :)
