Hi all,

I am looking for a good introduction to the world of collectible wrist watches. I don't really want a catalog with pretty pictures of watches. I am looking for a straightforward narrative discussion that will serve as an introduction to the topic. It should cover basic history, and provide an overview of how a watch functions suitable for a general reader. Hope this isn't too particular of a request.

Thanks!

Have you tried a Works search for "wrist watch"? Just type the phrase into the search box at the top right of your LT screen.

My interests are pocket watches and clocks so I cannot help you frm my own knowledge.

I did try that search, and came up with nothing. I actually found a good book by Gene Stone called The Watch (touchstone won't work).

Using that search I found four works of which two are price guides and two are more interesting. I suggest that you run the search again.
