I just recently found this group, but it doesn't seem very active. Are you folks all busy elsewhere, or have you just lost interest in this group?

And we're neighbors, sort of. I'm in Dallas.

Maybe that's a good thing. Isn't there an old saying about familiarity breeding contempt? :-)

I'm curious about why this group is not more active. Do we just do all our posting elsewhere? I know I "rekonize" 9 and 10 from other groups.

Texans, as a whole, tend to be a rather independent bunch. (I count 4 oxymorons in that sentence...)

In other areas of the country, LT-(ites/ers) actually plan days to get together and explore bookstores and such. No one seems to be interested here.

I've put out queries to see who might be attending the Texas Book Festival. The first response was almost a year later. I even wore my LibraryThing tee-shirt; no one seemed to recognize it.

#12 As a native Texan, I agree that we are an independent bunch. I know I am. I guess I'll just enjoy our Texan posts in other groups. :-)

Full disclosure - I've only lived in Texas for 22 years. I'm from New Jersey (which may explain why I have a predilection for verbosity).

Problem with Texas is the distance. Trying to get together is a matter of miles. For instant I live in north Houston been trying got together with my cousins in south Houston 6o miles away.
