Hey all, this offer showed up in my email. I was part of the Leisure horror club for years, so I'm betting I already have everything that would show up in the box. Here's the offer anyway:
60+ books to a box.
You pay just $25 plus shipping.
That's less than 50 cents a book!
Pick your genre and get a mystery box of mass market paperbacks. Score hard-to-find titles, out-of-print titles, and even 1st editions from your favorite authors.
Available only through Dorchester's Customer Service Telecenter.
Call 1-800-481-9191 to place your order.
Looks to me like they are clearing out their warehouses. Depending on your reading taste, etc. it could be a very good deal.
FWIW I have no ties to Leisure or Dorchester Publishing.
That looks like a great offer, but I would suggest the postage cost for me would be horrendous. USPS trans-Atlantic rates have risen dramatically.
I didn't check the postage, but back when there was a Leisure Horror Club I remember the postage was reasonable.
At the end there, the club seemed to fall apart. They abruptly stopped publishing their own mass market paperbacks. Then they started sending paperbacks from other publishers, but with no announcement ahead of time of what it would be. Now that has dried up.
It's a shame what happened to them. For me, they are the most noticable effect of the e-book revolution. That and Stephen King's books no longer seem to be coming out in mass market paperback format (at least Under the Dome never has and it doesn't look like Full Dark, No Stars is either).
Edit: I take that back. Full Dark, No Stars mass market is due out later this year. Why no Under the Dome mass market?
