I'm trying to find the title and author of a book I read about 20 years ago. It was a western/frontier novel. It had a mostly orange cover, and was published by a company that started with a Z I think. It started out with a drunk in an old buffalo wallow, or some kind of hole, out in the west. He called his new 'town' Valley Forge. A town slowly sprouted up from where he was. The story also deals with buffalo hunting, and many other aspects of western life in the 1800's.
I'm mad at myself for not remembering the title or author...driving me crazy! :)
Can anyone help me here...Thanks ahead of time.

Hi Dave. You've done a good job of giving details, but try this in Name that Book group: http://www.librarything.com/groups/namethatbook
There are more members in that group and you'll have a better chance of catching the right eye. And do check back here in case someone does answer.

In case anyone reads this, and wants to know, the book I was looking for is Heart of the Country by Greg Matthews. :)
