I've been working on my states for two and a half years and still have seven to go! (So many states repeated!) But I'm loving it and thinking about expanding my States read to a historical and a contemporary novel in each.

In any event, I'm just having fun with it, and every now and again I've invited others to join in. I'm hoping when new people join the challenge that they are not discouraged that this group is not as chatty as some others. So, I just wanted to say "welcome" to everyone who has joined lately. It's a fun personal challenge even if its not real talkative here.

I recently asked the lady who created this group if she was still participating here, and she told me that she was not. Of course, that doesn't matter here in the land of LT. We can all keep participating at whatever level we like. I'm still going to be at it for quite a while, and I look forward to reading everyone's progress. Here's to more states for all of us!

It's been really slow going for me on my own challenge and thought I'd be much further along than I am by now. I guess my other challenge commitments have just not allowed me to get as much done as I wanted. Still plugging away though and it's always interesting to see the places other people go with their reading.

I finally made myself draw a couple of states a month out of the hat last year to force myself to finish the challenge. Otherwise, I would have probably kept right on reading all those Maine, Massachusetts, South Carolina, and North Carolina books

I started in Oct 2009 and am only a little more than half way done. I knew it would take years but it's taking much longer than I thought. Like thornton in the post above mine, I have many repeats. Still fun though and it's interesting knowing where I don't travel to as well as where I do go!
