The old gamester is feeling frisky today, and wants you to find the word he's thinking of, which rhymes with frisk.

During the telecast of the NBA draft the other night, the fact that one prospect has a bulging one of these in his back led to a hilarious* misstatement by one of the ESPN analysts.

According to legend, it can be killed by the odor of a weasel or by the sound of a rooster crowing; the latter is surprising because this creature is born from a serpent's egg incubated by a rooster.

RE:
#2 - you can beat your eggs with a whisk but you can't beat Crambo with one.
#3 - I never even knew that Cleopatra sewed but apparently she did. At least according to this London obelisk. Not a winner.
#4 - Where's Obelix without Asterix? Or obelisk without asterisk? Not a winner.
#5 - Pretty funny story, which was easily retrievable thanks to Google. But it's not disk.
#6 - Thanks for the basilisk survival tip! Next time I go out in basilisk territory, I'm going to put on some eau de weasel before I leave home. Not a winner.

NOT - whisk, obelisk, asterisk, disk, basilisk
ALPHA NOT - asterisk, basilisk, disk, obelisk, whisk

#8 - Words without vowels are great, and according to my Oxford Dictionary, this one's spelled tsk tsk. It's not Crambo's word.
#9 - Nice work to think outside the -isk box, and a lovely soup, but the word's not bisque.
$10- I hadn't been aware of the bad reputation enjoyed by the tamarisk. Not a winner.

NOT - whisk, obelisk, asterisk, disk, basilisk, tsk tsk, bisque, tamarisk
ALPHA NOT - asterisk, basilisk, bisque, disk, obelisk, tamarisk, tsk tsk, whisk

RE:
#12 - I'll send the odalisque right over to peel you a couple of grapes. You deserve it, because your guess is a winner. Crambo's word is odalisque.

Over and out...
