...And more to the point, anybody else in the North who forgoes the identity crisis of being "Northern Irish" by delving into some "other" culture?
I have somehow evaded Irish literature (except for Yeats at school, awful!), although the fact that I study Spanish literature (poetry) might have something to do with it.
Spain and its literature sometimes feels less alien to me than Ireland.

I'm from the North. Not steeped in the irish canon but read a bit. Pretty eceletic tastes in fiction.
