My new name for The Thing That Should Not Be. I stole it from one of the nerds over at Hufffingtonpost.

I will use it from now on. If some find it irritating I apologize in advance.

BTW, anyone unfamiliar with TTTSNB - google it.

OK, I've googled it and all I get are references to a Metallica song.

Well, yeah. And that song isn't that great - the only good Metallica song being Enter Sandman.

The lyrics are based on the H.P. Lovecraft story "Shadow Over Innsmouth".

If interested you can read that story and several of his others at this site:

I got the Lovecraft reference. What I don't understand is how it connects at all to politics.

Uh, Myth Zombey could be a space alien from the planet Kolob?

I'll tell that to my class of 8 year olds. They'll think it's hilarious. Just their kind of humour.

Well, apparently there is great disagreement on this thread regarding what is proper humor and what is not regarding politics.

So then - is the character of a potential POTUS a serious matter? If we can agree on that then what about this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=6Ek_jkwGg3I

It seems that (the republican nominee for President) is trying to square the circle here. He is a loyal member of his church. His church was officially racist until 1978. The republican nominee was 31 years old in 1978. He claims he is not a racist. He says his church changed its policy on blacks and he celebrated that. But he will not say the words "the Mormon church was wrong on that issue until 1978" or say anything like that.

Obviously the republican nominee did not speak out in disagreement with this racist policy up until he was 31 years old because kowtowing to his church was more important than doing what is obviously right (to a decent person, that is).

So not to pick on the republican nominee I'll point out there are many videos available on youtube of, e.g., Donnie and Marie Osmond and several members of the ruling council of the LDS church all being just as mealy-mouthed and hypocritical as the republican nominee on this.

Unless one can make a case that President Obama has demonstrated a lack of character to this degree, making it all a wash, then I would have to say Houston we have a problem - the republican nominee is running out of air and is crash-landing on Kolob - the "Whites Only" planet.

11> I didn't take one because my phone was charging at the time. And all he did was walk around looking zombieish, so it would have been a pretty boring video anyway.
