The theme of this ghost story is eternal love.

Do any of the members here know of other ghost stories with the eternal love theme?

May Sinclair, "The Nature of the Evidence" and "Where Their Fire is Not Quenched". Both excellent, though if you're looking for happily-ever-after-and-beyond, "...Fire..." ain't it.

Portrait of Jennie is a (maybe) ghost story. One is never quite sure. Not a happy-ever-after, but a lovely story.

#3 - I saw the film version when I was young. (Starring Joseph Cotton, I believe.) I had no idea it was a book. I wonder how rare copies are these days.

I loved the movie. (Cotton, & Jennifer Jones.) That's why I grabbed the book when I saw it in a used book store.

Amazon has new and used copies, from a penny up to big bucks for collectible copies.

Many thanks, myshelves.
I am heading to a very large used book store within the next week or so, I'll add that to my list. (Elmer Gantry's already on there.)
