Fantasy book with main character a female whose love interest is man named blue

I read this book in the mid 90's so it is before then. The parts of the plot I remember are that the girl is traveling to this house which is connected to many other other different realms with different ways to get to them, one way is by smoking a pipe and traveling to that realm trough the smoke. Along the way she meets a man named blue and they eventually fall in love. This is all I can remember about the book. Hopefully someone can help me find this book. Thank you for your help.

This might be Moonheart by Charles de Lint. It has a big house that is a sort of portal to other worlds, and there is a character called Blue, a biker, though IIRC he is not the main character's eventual love interest but a friend/housemate. It was written in 1984.

Seconded Moonheart. de Lint is a very evocative writer, and I always liked the strange forms that magic took in his works.
