Authors who were seconded for this period:

Dashiell Hammett
W. Somerset Maugham
Salman Rushdie
Alexander Solzhenitsyn
V. S. Naipaul
Fyodor Dostoevsky
Jack Kerouac
Jack London
Alice Munro
Tim Winton

Please vote for two you'd like to read (since everyone won't pick the same) and the top 3 will be our next set of authors!

Please also get your votes in by 4 March. I am extending the deadline until the 9th. Fyodor Dostoevsky and V. S. Naipaul had 3 votes each, so they will be our April and May authors. W. Somerset Maugham has two votes, Dashiell Hammett has one. If no one else chimes in, Maugham will be our June author, but two votes is really low! So, cast your votes if you wish to influence things. :)

I'm reading a Doesteyevsky now so it'd be great to compare notes with others so that's my vote.

Whoops, meant to come back here later that day and totally forgot. Was also hoping maybe a few more people would drop by...

Oh well. It's Dostoevsky & Naipaul for me, so I'm going to call those two our authors for April and May, and I'm going to wait until the weekend is over and see if anyone else wants to contribute more votes for any others, because this was an incredibly small turnout! If no one does, Maugham's two votes will put him in for June.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Sorry, been unable to catch up with all the starred threads....
Looks like I missed the cut off for voting. I would have voted for Jack London and Tim Winton.

That's okay, Maugham would have still taken 3rd place with his two votes ;)
