i had heard/seen her name, but it wasn't until recently that I was prompted to look her up. There appears to be a bit of controversy swirling around this author. Have you read her? Have you seen articles, tweets, or blog posts from people who have interacted with her?

Can you tell me.specifically what you've seen? I just googled her and I didn't turn up any controversy.

I was looking for her on Twitter to mention her re: the galley I'm reading and turned up several posts about her taking offense at a review of her latest work at the time (2009). Maybe (hopefully?) it was an isolated incident? But I wasn't crazy about what she was quoted as having said and done. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/jacketcopy/2009/06/did-alice-hoffman-strike-back...

This reminds me of Jacqueline Howett and her novel The Greek Seaman.
