Okay, so a girl gets knocked up by a soldier and when she finds out she's pregnant by a soldier and when she travels out West to find him, the soldier dies like minutes after finding out about his child. But not before making his best friend promise to care of the girl and the child. That's pretty much all I remember except that she had bright red hair and I'm like 99% sure her name was Flame
