One of my favorite things about EP is their singed editions. I don't know of any other publisher that publishes so many wonderful books and has them signed by the author. OK, a caveat, I know that some "popular" authors such as Neil Gaiman and Bradbury have had numerous signed editions throughout their career, but others such as Jane Goodall have no signed editions outside EP as far as I know.I thought it would be nice to have a thread devoted to signed editions in particular non-DLE, since DLEs have so many threads anyway. So, what are some of your favorite signed books?

Here are some of my favorites to get us going:

Astronaut Library - 6 vols- signed by: Buzz Aldrin, Alan Shepard, James Lovell, Frank Borman, Walter Schirra, Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, and John Glenn.

In the Shadow of Man -signed by: Jane Goodall

While on the theme of space and exploration, I really wish Easton Press would publish a signed edition of The Right Stuff.

My only signed Eastons are political - Nixon, Ford, Carter, Bush I, Caspar Weinberger, Robert McNamara, and the 8 volumes signed by Henry Kissinger.

I agree. EP makes signed editions available for an affordable price. Most of mine are science fiction (From the Signed First Editions of Science Fiction, and the Masterpieces of Science Fiction). But their are others. I too have In The Shadow of Man, I do not recall if that was part of a series, or if I purchased it independently. Do you recall?

This year I picked up Stardust (Gaiman), Interview with a Vampire (Rice), I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (Angelou). I am considering going back for the newer Gaiman novel, and my daughter is enjoying the Divergent trilogy, so I am considering that as well.

I don't know that I have a favorite. Some have appreciated to the pointing that I have purchased duplicates from other publishers to read, as I travel with my books, and I don't want take them with me. This includes several from the Masterpieces of Science Fiction series.

OK, so if pressed, I guess my favorite signed series was the Masterpieces of Science Fiction signed ones, as they were included every 11th book or so for not additional cost, and I thought that was cool beans. These included The Foundation Trilogy, Enders Game', The Left Hand of Darkness, Gateway, The Martian Chronicles, and Slan. Was Dune signed in that series? I don't have it marked as so in my LT catalog.

Still, I have 7 of my 79 books from that series signed, and 5 of those 7 deserved it in my opinion. The other two -- meh.

3: There were others in the Masterpieces of Science Fiction that were signed as well. I don't remember all the books, but Deathbird Stories by Harlan Ellison was one. I thought The Foundation Trilogy was the magnus opus of the "free" signed books! Truly magnificent, with gorgeous illustrations by Michael Whelan and of course, it's signed by one of the great fathers of science fiction, Issac Asimov. Dune, unfortunately was never signed. There has never been a signed edition by any publisher.I recall reading that it was meant to be signed, but Herbert passed away before that could be done :(

I'm a late comer I guess to the whole "signed edition" EP books. Not sure why they never interested me in the past but they definitely do now. I recently put in an order with EP a few weeks ago and (if my memory serves me correct) I believe I ordered 3-4 signed books.

To make a long story short, I have always loved the movie Angela's Ashes. Read the book then the 2 sequels ('Tis & Teacher Man). I ran across the 1997 Signed Puliter Prize set of books by EP, which includes Angela's Ashes, on EBay. After adding this to my bookshelf I found out that EP had a signed version of 'Tis, that I also found on EBay. Alas Frank died before they got around to doing a signed copy of Teacher Man.

I have since started collecting older EP sports related signed books including some newer ones as well. Then I started with many of the Stephen Ambros signed books that EP has done over the years (still working on those... Anybody want to get ride of their copy of Band of Brothers? Lol).

Anywho...
