Sorry, I couldn't find my original topic. I finally finished The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. It was fascinating, and not as difficult to read as I expected. But it was just so looooong.

Next up will be The Seeing Glass. I'm taking a bit of a break from the long history books.

Yes, congrats on finishing a long ROOT!

The Seeing Glass is done. Now, if I picked all of them this short, I might finish after all. Next I will try Spiritwalker Messages from the Future.

Spiritwalker Messages from the Future is done. I also finished James Patterson's Violets are Blue. Now I am working on Revenge of the Middle-aged Woman.

Reading Stats vs. goals for the year so far:
43 of 75 total books read.
5 of 25 ROOTs
15 new books (read by request or otherwise
20 books from my main reading list
24 Kindle books
3 Audible audiobooks (includes 1 whisper-sync on both Kindle and Audible)
4 library books
2 e-books on Scribd
1 e-book on the Nook app.

Some of these categories overlap.

Thanks connie53!

Finished Revenge of the Middle Aged Woman. Now working on Crooked Little Heart.

Hehe - rolling on now. Finished Crooked Little Heart and Cat on the Scent. Next up, another cat mystery - Murder on the Prowl.

Yay! Another one down. Not sure who will go next. Maybe Demonic Males.

Rooting right along!

Finished Demonic Males. It was better than I expected. They were talking about inter-group raiding among chimpanzees and the parallels to making war in humans. They also looked at bonobos and why they don't have this same behavior pattern.

I think the next root will be On Mystic Lake. I may not make 25 at this rate, but at least I got up to 10.

On Mystic Lake is done. It was better than I expected.

Not sure what the next ROOT will be - maybe A Conspiracy of Tall Men, or The Complete Robot, or possibly The Piney Ridge Trilogy. All qualify as ROOTs that need to be finished this year.

Yay! Another Root finished. Almost half done - in time for the end of the year.

Read The Complete Robot. I am inclined to do A Conspiracy of Tall Men next; it sounds like fun.

Yeah - you can do it - finish strong! :)

A Conspiracy of Tall Men is now done. Over halfway now. On to The Piney Ridge Trilogy. Might make 15 by the end of the year. Maybe.

OK, so done with The Piney Ridge Trilogy. That makes 14. So, at least 15 is imminently doable. The next book will be Raising Cain. I think.

Will we be doing this again next year?

>23 LoraShouse: I certainly hope so! There is a poll in the November ROOTs thread asking if we should, and there appears to be a consensus :)

Successfully finished Raising Cain. Another one of those books everybody needs to read. The next book will be The War Against Boys, but I don't expect to finish it before the end of the year. Hence why it would be good to continue the ROOT hung into next year. There's still plenty of material in my TBR piles.

Ok, I'm done for this year. I don't expect to finish anything else before the end of the year. However, I hope I am in a position to finish several things early next year.
Happy New Year to everyone!

Final statistics for this year:

115 of 75 total books read.
15 of 25 ROOTs
46 new books (read by request or otherwise
50 of 50 books from my main reading list (only 650 left to go there)
59 Kindle books
14 Audible audiobooks (includes 4 whisper-sync on both Kindle and Audible)
12 library books
4 e-books on Scribd
9 audiobooks on Scribd
1 e-book on the Nook app.

Once again, some of these categories overlap. All of the new books are on the Kindle. Most of the ROOTs are from the main reading list. Most of the library books and books from Scribd are also from the main reading list.

Hope I can find next year's challenge!

Looks like a full reading year. Hope most of it was enjoyable.
