What is your current rating? Has this changed? Why?

I'm staying with a 4. It may go up but I'm having my most enjoyable month all year so there's little room at the top.......and we're only a week into the month (hope I haven't jinxed myself).

I'm staying at 4 too and waiting for some more excitement.

I'm staying at 4 also. I'm picking up the book today and sending the audio back to Overdrive. YEAH!!!

>5 Carol420: - I listen to a lot of audiobooks but I find they aren't that good for the discussion group. Too hard to flip back and double check what's happening.

>6 Olivermagnus: You've got that right. I was going to continue listening to it but with all that went on the last section I know I probably missed some things....so I'll pick up the book today.

I have the audio downloaded from overdrive and a copy of the book. Trying to follow along with the audio but the audio is like an abridged version and leaves out a lot of info.

>8 EadieB: oh dear!

I'm sticking with 4 and, like Eadie, waiting for more excitement.

>8 EadieB: I just do not get the point of abridged audiobooks, they bring out the Hulk in me!

I am lowering mine to 3.75, too much action in this section at the cost of the dialogue and background to the story.

>11 Andrew-theQM: I agree Andrew. I won't get an audiobook unless it's unabridged. I always feel like I'm missing something from the story (or just being cheated and not getting what the author intended).

No where does it say abridged. It's a download from Overdrive so there is no case involved. The reader just does not read all the paragraphs. It's rather strange but you do get the understanding of the story.

>12 bhabeck: >13 EadieB: That would be even more infuriating! 😤 I agree with Brenda, you are not getting what the author initially intended.

At least I'm glad that I have the book too. I only downloaded the audio in order to use it to read along with the book.

>15 EadieB: >16 Carol420: I think it's Scott Brick who is the reader on the Cotton Malone series. He has a rather unique style.
