Yesterday, I submitted 42 ISBNs via text file. Only 25 seem to have come through. I haven't gotten any notice that the process is complete. Did the import stall out again? Is it supposed to take at least 24 hours?

Will see what I can figure out tomorrow.

I think, possibly, all the records came through that are going to come through. I remember one record was supposedly a duplicate. 16 were listed as failed. 16 + 25 = 41 + the dupe...that's 42. Still never got a notice the process finished; but I've deleted the 25 that came through and I'm going to use the Add books function instead.

I did an import from goodreads about twenty-four hours ago; unless the autotagging is screwed up, only 146 out of 205 have imported so far. I haven't gotten a notice that the process was finished but no new books have appeared in my account since I was up to 146 last night.

It told me that 18 had no ISBNs and I told it to import them anyway, but I haven't gotten any notice of any failures either, and I'm missing more than 18. (I haven't done an import since before it started sending comments to tell you when it's done, so I don't know how it does failure notices now...)

Manual add of book took about two hours to appear in search. Also, I just updated a tag on one of my old books and it displays the new tag, but is found in search by the old tag. Still after about two hours. Something is definitely wrong now. This used to work fine in the past.

My tag update to a book in my library took effect after around 5 hours. OK now, but why did it take five hours instead of five minutes, or seconds rather?

>9 boklusen:, >10 boklusen: You are talking about a totally different matter. Your issue has nothing to do with the import feature.

If you want to ask about search problems, that needs to be a new topic. You also need to make it clear which search you are talking about. It has always been my experience that changes can take time to settle.

Thanks for reporting/commenting - I'll take a look over the imports not notifying/being completely done problem today.

Something's up with it although it's not clear what, or it's just one thing or not.

Thanks for checking up on this! (I am still at 146 for the import.)

Would me going in and adding tags, covers, etc. to the books that did import mess it up more, or should I wait?

Ok I believe this is fixed - the issue was a bug stemming from a previous change which fixed notifications on imports that were not actually done yet.

There was a flurry of notifications as it processed these which it had been ignoring as completed.

My notification came through! :)

Still waiting for mine. It'll come to my comment wall, right? (And still wondering about rest of the import, but I can spent a happy evening tagging anyway!)

>8 melannen: & >17 melannen: I can't remember for GR imports, but when you do universal imports, you can go back to the import page and see what ISBNs failed...under "Lookup queue": http://www.librarything.com/import -- sometimes, you can see the ISBNs waiting to be imported. You can also clear the list.

Ah, thanks! It was there, I just didn't think to scroll down. 36 ISBNs failed + 18 without ISBNs + 146 in the catalog gets me to almost the right number. Still a few books missing, though (and no notification of completion, or anything about those 18 failing.)

>20 melannen: Yes I am still looking into your case (and a few other users as well). Something has still prevented it from being "completed" completely.

Still no completion message or appearance of the last few books - should I just give up?

(And would it be a bad idea for me to try to run any more imports?)

>22 melannen: Sorry I have not gone back to figure those missing ones out. I'll see if I can look today. In any case it shouldn't hurt to run more imports.
