Ok so I remember this romance novel where it starts with a duke (or high ranking lord) stumbling into the wrong room at an inn and gets in bed with a girl. Her crazy preacher dad finds them and makes him marry her. So he sleeps with her. Turns out he was drunk and he thinks the girl is mentally handicapped, so he sets her up in a cottage and goes back to his life.

Flash forward like 10 years and a woman goes to London and decides to find a wealthy man to support her and her son and so she can have a good experience (an older woman is helping her navigate the waters - this older woman was a mistress for years). Then she sees this Duke and decides she wants to be his mistress. Well, he likes her back and eventually they travel to his estate and he gets all sentimental and sad he can't marry her and explains he is already married. She then shames him into going to visit the poor woman he left behind to find out about her.

So off he goes, and when he gets to the cottage it turns out the mistress was his wife the whole time! Also, it turns out that she was pregnant and he has a son (who I think is called Lexi or Alexi). \
Another random thing is that the son has epilepsy, and the duke describes it (he had it as a kid as well).

If anyone has any idea what the book is called or who wrote it I would greatly appreciate hearing back! It is bothering me so much that I can't remember or find it!
