You all know you've requested books for Xmas (I can't be the only one - not in a place like this!). So, which ones have you asked for in particular?

My own Xmas wishlist looks like this:

Terry Pratchett - Making Money
Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs - The Wit and Wisdom of Discworld
Christopher Brookmyre - Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks
Kelley Armstrong - Exit Strategy
Simon Scarrow - The Generals (Revolution #2)
Lisa See - Peony in Love
Kate Mosse - Sepulchre
Ben Elton - Blind Faith (no tag link for some reason)
Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell - The Lost Barkscrolls

I'm also replacing a load of my old paperbacks with hardbacks, so there's even a back-up list in case all these novels get snagged by folks clamouring to buy books to stick in my stocking! I'm hopeful that I'll get at least half of the books requested, although if made to choose which I would prefer, I'd be hard-pushed to pick from them!

Come on, 'fess up - which books are you hoping Santa has in his sack for you?

I work at Barnes & Noble, so I buy myself any book I want.

However, I have made a tradition of buying myself the latest box set of the Complete Peanuts every year. This year it was '63-'66.

I wish Santa would bring me:

Pillars of the Earth & World w/o End by Ken Follett

World w/o Us by Alan Weisman

jseger, did you also go nuts during B&N employee appreciation week? I literally bought 23 or so books :-/

Even worse, only one was a gift . . . the rest were for me! I'm not allowed to buy more books until approximately 2010.

jseger-I too, buy myself The Complete Peanuts boxset every year! I bought the same one that you mentioned! They are taking up a lot of space on my shelves!

I usually just ask for a Borders gift card. My husband had some atoneing to do so he bought me Collected Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges yesterday. I had my eye on it and was glad he stayed out later than he was supposed too! I tell him I won't give him a hard time if we can take a little trip to Borders with his credit card! I'm shameful I know!

Sara,

This time I held myself in check (sort of) during employee appreciation week. In check with me means I bought as many gifts as I bought books for myself of course! I bought myself... let's see14, 15 books? That's not too bad!

I'm telling you, when I do work at B&N, my paychecks get sunk straight back into the store. Luckily I have a 'real' job to pay the bills...

Cleo (or should I call you 'GoodBye'?),

If those 'Peanuts' boxes are taking up too much room on your shelves, it just means you need more shelves, right? There's at least another... what, eight boxes to go?

But what an awesome project that is, reprinting the entire run of the Peanuts. And reading these old Peanuts strips brings back fond memories of going to the library with my grandma (the one who started my love of books). Peanuts collections are some of the first things I checked out.

Cleo is fine! You are right-I need more shelves! Next time my husband messes up big it will be a trip to the furniture store! I'm just joking. I'm not really That shameless!
The Peanuts Gang bring back fond childhood memories for me as well. I still have Snoopy stuffed animals. There is a Santa Snoopy sitting out right now.
