I enjoyed looking at pictures of everyone's shelves on an earlier thread, but it got to the point where it was taking a long time to load, at least for me. Now I have pictures of my own to post, so I thought I'd start a new thread with them, and hope that others who didn't post earlier might be encouraged to do so now!
Here's my cozy reading spot:

And my low bookshelf, which holds mainly children's books:

Which, as you can see, has a Christmas tree on top of it right now.
That's the living room. There are books scattered all over the house, some better organized than others, but the bulk of the collection is in the living room.
(Edited after resizing the images so they won't be so huge!)

Very nice reading nook setup. That cozy chair looks great foggi. Looks like the kind you don't want to get out of!

Hah! clamairy, that was my exact thought! That chair looks like it would hug you while you read.

Lovely reading corner, foggi! I would just add a little table next to the chair to put my coffee mug on... ahhhh!!! Bliss!! :D

OK, these are pictures I took last October during a trip to a mountain town (El Valle = The Valley, it's on an extinct volcano). Mom and I stayed at a lovely inn, and there's a restaurant beside it which is styled as if it were an old country cottage, complete with a wine cellar, living room with piano, and a library!!! It was never a house, though, it was only built like three or four years ago, but they paid so much attention to detail that is so homey and beautiful you just think people actually lived there.
Anyway, I absolutely ADORED the library and someday I wish I have one just like it!
Hope the pictures show up OK:
This one has a crooked angle because I wanted to get a shot of the roof. Those are actually old wooden railroad tracks, rescued from the former Panamá-Colón railroad, I think. The bookshelves are all made out of the same wooden tracks.

In this one you can see the patio beyond:

And in this one you can see the texture of the wood better (just ignore the reader in the foreground :P):

Edit: removed the img src tags because the pics won't show up :(
P.S.: Oh yeah, and about my OWN library: well, it's really tiny, just some bookshelves, really, and I haven't gotten around to photographing it yet... *blush*

Who would ever want to leave that place! Looks wonderful. Of course, I imagine most of the books are unreadable to me, being in Spanish, probably.

Hi, MrsLee!
It *is* lovely, isn't it? :) And I wish I had taken more pictures to show the width of the room...
Well, most of the books were in Spanish, but quite a few were also in English. Most of them dealing with the Panama Canal treaties, and the history of the US relations with Panama, that sort of thing.
Anyway, did you know there is a book here in LT dedicated to bookcases?

I think I'll browse it :)
