Do you think the predicted 'Storm of the Century' will have a part to play in the book? If so, any thoughts how?

I think so. Sounds like the same type of storm that Kara's father disappeared from.

Oh Yes..."Sandstorm"... hence Sandstorm.

Agree the title shows it must be important, will the sandstorm reveal something from the past linked to Ubar?

I think Eadie has hit upon it. The same type of giant sand-devil that took Kara's father. Begins to sound supernatural.

>6 Sergeirocks: The only one I felt sorry for was the poor oryx . I hate it when people hunt animals for the "sport" of it. I ask you what sport was that poor animal having? Food is one thing but just for the "fun" of it.... Couldn't her father come up with any other birthday present? okay...putting away the soap box.

I do - It's going to affect the timing of the expedition as well as any surveillance efforts.

>2 EadieB: that's what I thought too - that there might be a connection between the two

>7 Carol420: that was hard for me to read too. I'm like you - kill whoever you want in the book, just don't kill the dog (or cat, or horse, or pretty much any other critter)
