Book published probably from 1970-1980s
There’s a scene where she goes to bathe in the freezing river/lake and he shows her a hot spring instead. He doesn’t really think she can survive in the mountains so she does everything she can to convince him. I think she is a spinster maybe she worked as a teacher. He is a gruff bearded man. This takes place in the late 1800s or early 1900s.
