I read a few days ago The Husband Stitch, a short story by Carmen Maria Machado which is contained in Her body and other parties, if I understand correctly.
This story made a very strong impression on me and I liked it a lot.

I see you did not give a very high rating to the collection. Did you think this story was representative of the whole book?

>2 chlorine: The Husband Stitch, along with all the critical praise for the book equally lured me in. The stories started to fall a little flat to me in the middle of the collection; specifically, Especially Heinous dragged on and on and wasn't clever to me in least (but its concept was pretty amusing.) Towards the end, the book got better, so I gave it 3 stars. Machado's prose is quite lovely, but some of those stories just didn't resonate for me.

Short answer: NO. But it was a good effort.

>3 MsNick: Thanks for the feed back! I'll veer towards other collections that caught my eye then. :)
