Library Thing was working perfectly for us, but it has suddenly begun to 'lose' our most recently entered books. We enter them; they show up of LT's listings of our books; and they show up as recently entered. However, if you search for them on 'Search your books' they don't appear! Has anyone else had this problem? Have we just turned something on/off without realising?
As >2 gilroy: mentioned, examples would be helpful. Also, I should note that it can take very recently added books a few minutes (10 or so) to show up in Your Books search. However, if you view the collection they were added to, and sort by recent entries, they should appear there.
Weird! If you sort that catalogue by total members, the top book says it is owned by 0 members. If you click on it it has 26. (http://www.librarything.com/work//book/149936435)
>1 Paul_and_Jane: You do have a lot of Collections defined. Search results in your catalog are restricted to the Collection most recently specified, so maybe that's your stumbling block?
OK, as an example, when I searched for Leon Garfield it wasn't coming up, but I was searching all collections at that point - if I go into Children's and search it is there ... I'm not sure things are entriely sorted with lorannen's 'search the right category' advice - but they are certainly improved!! Thanks, all. Jane
I see 5 books by Leon Garfield whether I search All Collections or Children's.
Lorannen didn't suggest searching the collection, but sorting it. If you go to the collection and sort by entry date, you should see the books you just entered whether or not they are indexed yet for searching.
It really sounds as if the problem was timing. Search isn't always immediately available when a book is entered.
