OOooohh, I've had Crofutt on my Wish List for a long time! I'm definitely picking something up on this sale! Really nice! That's a $200 book too! (I'm obsessed with the vintage recreation books that Easton puts out, See Mark Twain/Jules Verne DLE series)

Edit: Weirdly enough, the link doesn't seem to be working for me (I've used the one posted here as well as the email I received myself).

Caution - the email says the free books are “large, lavishly illustrated” editions, but “How the Other Half Lives” is 5 1/4 x 8 and Crofutt’s is 5 1/4 x 7 1/2.

This is one of several recent incidents where the advertising has failed to match the reality, and they never issue a correction.

Fair point - I honestly never read the descriptions - I just scan the list to see if it's a book I have previously wanted. As a history buff, "How the Other Half Lives" does appeal to me.

I obtained Crofutt’s last year in a similar sale, and it’s a fine book. But I hope no one orders it expecting a coffee table book.

That’ll be an order of the Fall of Gondolin and How the Other Half Lives for me

Edit: Never mind. The website sale now works properly.

Okay, so in my opinion, How the Other Half Lives is the best free book EP has ever offered! Also, heads up that there are 84 copies left (out of 1890)! Make that, 83 after my order :)

I agree with that, 100%. I'm shocked they offered that book for free. I guess it wasn't selling well enough and they want to declare losses for tax season...

I highly doubt they lose money on these deals.

Gladiator sells well on eBay if you want to reduce the cost of an EP purchase.

What are the odds! I have purchased How the Other Half Lives AND New Overland Tourist and definitely recommend getting them for free!

I picked up John Glenn and the new Mysticism book
