Ok, as a companion to the "crappy games" topic - what are some games that were highly rated, highly praised that you just couldn't get into, for whatever reason? In general, these should probably be the types of games that you would normally love but just didn't work this time. For instance, I would not include all the well rated platformer-type/action-adventure games like the Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry, etc. because I am horrible at those kinds of games and avoid them like the plague.

For me, I have never been able to get into Dragon Quest VIII, even though it is a beautiful, deep, well-done game that is highly rated and looks interesting. The start-up to the main plot is just too slow for me and I hate the fact that you can't save anywhere except a town. I would always die in some random place and then have to replay hours of game-time. I tried three times to start it and it never happened.

Legend of Dragoon and Chrono Cross. I love RPGs, particularly Final Fantasy, which LoD is supposed to copy, but somehow they just didn't work for me. I also loved Chrono Trigger, so it's hard to understand why I didn't like Chrono Cross. People have assured me over and over that I'll adore both, but it hasn't happened and probably won't ever at this point.

I'm pretty sure I don't like/enjoy Super Smash Brothers Brawl nearly as much as I'm supposed to.

World of Warcraft. Though that really wasn't a surprise, as the MMORPG gameplay just ins't for me.

It's pretty to look at, though.

Chrono Trigger. :| It just didn't catch my interest, which is weird because it involves nearly all of my favorite things in a story. I'll try again some time in the future.
