What will Sebastian do about Hero and Kat now he knows the ship set sail in December not February? Why would his father lie to him?

I think Sebastian would still marry Hero if she were to agree because he has his principles. If not, I hope he goes to see Kat. I don't know if divorce is possible back then but Kat is in a loveless marriage so there'd be no reason to stay. I think Hendon lied because his pride is at stake, not to mention his heir. If Sebastian is of no relation to him, then he'd have no heir.

>2 gaylebutz: I agree re Sebastian marrying Hero if she'd have him.

Hendon would have an heir but it wouldn't be a St Cyr as the estate and title would pass to Bayard (Amanda's son), I think, and Hendon has no great admiration for that young man

I think it's important to Hendon that Sebastian inherit as his son. He's not a fan of Amanda's son as I recall. I think he's too appalled by Kat's profession to ever have encouraged that relationship. Plus. It probably never occurred to him that Sebastian might find out the secret.

I think Sebastian should marry Hero if he can convince her.

>4 Olivermagnus: I’m wondering when we’re going to hear something from Amanda on this. At the end of the book where we found out about Hendon and Kat (book 2?) - I think she said something to Hendon along the lines of “he’ll never forgive you when he finds out the truth” so she obviously knows about Sebastian and most likely her mother’s whereabouts

I think Sebastian will end up marrying Hero and Hernon didn't want Sebastian to know that he is not his father because he does not like Amanda's son.

>4 Olivermagnus: I agree. Sebastian will still try to either marry Hero or work with her to come to some acceptable conclusion. I can't see Hendon letting Bayard inherit.

>4 Olivermagnus: I agree 100% with you Lynda.

It says an awful lot if Hendon would prefer the (possibly) illegitimate offspring of his wife's affair as his heir, rather than Bayard (who is of his own bloodline).
