Absolutely. If there were survivors they wouldn't have much time left. I think it will be helpful when Juan finds out that Michael Bradly has written information in his notebook. I wonder how long before Michael either offers it or Juan thinks to ask.

Yes. Not only are there survivors but one of them may know about the sonic weapon.

Gleaned from something Tate said, Juan and Max seem to think that someone on the Kansas City might be able to give them a clue to what's going on. Therefore, a recce has to be worth the effort, in case there are any survivors.
