A man with intellectual disabilities lives at home with his mother. After she becomes ill (or dies?), the son discovers letters she had written to a celebrity. The son is befriended by a family friend, possibly a priest or member of the clergy. I read this novel about 10 years ago. I’m sure I could find the title if I could just remember who the letters were written to: Elvis? A game show host? Arggghhh! Driving me crazy.
