Any possibility of adding "Related works" to Common Knowledge?

The Common Knowledge section of LT is such a treasure trove, and a couple features there (like "important places" and "related movies") make me wish there were a field for "Related works," which would allow us to build up a network of connections between the content of books that would go beyond simply series or an author's oeuvre.

Examples of the kind of thing I'm envisioning would include: how the reading and sharing of a copy of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice plays an important role in the plot of Allan Mallanson's A Close Run Thing; or how Tom Brown's Schooldays becomes a milestone at a couple separate points in E. H. Shepard's Drawn from Memory and Drawn from Life; or the crucial role that particular novels play in Jennifer Chambliss Bertman's Book Scavenger.

Has such an idea been floated and might some development like this be in the works? Or if not, can anyone suggest a work-around, other than just leaving notes in book comments?

This would be a work relationship - these share a module with the series info on the main page for each work. Detailed here: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/HelpThing:Work/Relationships

Unfortunately there isn't really a relationship set up for what you are talking about here though (or at least I don't think so - it's not something I've played with much).

You could use Inspired/Was inspired by although Pride and Prejudice already has quite a few.

>4 bergs47: That discussion is about mentions. The OP talks about 'crucial role' or 'plays an important part in the plot', which is why I suggested Inspired.
