Blinding Lies by Amy Cronin

The mystery novel set in Cork Ireland is working off a good formula - enough intertwined stories to keep you guessing and interested. The few details of Cork were mostly charming, but I would have enjoyed Cork as a character in the story as well. I wanted more details! When a fact about something, in this case, an event, is repeated, I was wanting more details, not just the same information handed to me again.

My big complaint is the title of the book. It seems to me it might have been the title of the second book in the series. I was halfway through the book thinking that lies had not really played into the story yet. The reference of lies - blinding or otherwise - refers to the next book, as set up on the last page of this book.

While I think the book was short on details, the story was enough to keep me engage and wanting to see the resolution. Where details were missing, I was expecting a plot twist or something to explain the missing info - but it never materialized.

The book moved swiftly and I finished it in a brief amount of time - not my usual - so it had me hooked. I look forward to the next book in the series.
