Thank you for stopping by! I joined LT this year because I needed something to record my massive library (I'm not exaggerating--I just passed 5k!). I am trying to read more books each year to make it through the thousands of books in my TBR pile.
I haven't penned too many reviews, but I am hoping to change that as well--if nothing else, to remember the books I've read and why I loved them (or didn't). If you're interested in talking about any of these, feel free to respond! I love talking about books and making new friends!
As you'll see, I read many different genres. I have a special place in my heart for fantasy and science fiction and have a healthy amount of YA as well (for those genres). I recently discovered cozy mysteries and thrillers. I have read a few horror books, but I really don't like gore (think the violent Halloween movies that are out now). I like suspense/ghosts/monsters. I love travel books about the journey (hiking the Appalachian Trail, etc.). I also read true adventure and crime stories. Every now and then I try to read romance (my best friend's favorite genre) but it needs to be at least 75 percent fantasy/scifi/thriller/mystery and only 25 percent romance, lol. I also crossed an item off my bucket list this year, reading the unabridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo! I've always loved the story and other stories with a mastermind, heroes, anti-heroes, etc.
Ok, so with all of that said, here is what I've read so far this year:

Welcome! You've done some great reading this year. I recently finished In the Night Room too, one of the few Straubs that I hadn't read.

>3 drneutron: Thanks! I hadn't read it before either and felt drawn to pull it from my shelf after he passed. How did you like it?
5drneutron
I enjoyed it quite a lot. Straub's one of my faves since I read Ghost Story way back when.

>2 FAMeulstee: Thanks! I only read 40 books last year. I just stumbled across this challenge and I thought it would help motivate me to keep reading and not become complacent since I surpassed last year's total. :) I'm hopeful that I'll make it to 75!
