The Queen - Mother - Goddess of them all:
BARBARA G. WALKER

Before I started knitting and I learned about her great accomplishments in that fiedl, she was one of my very TOP non-fiction authors. Fave books include the Crone, and Womans Book of Myths and Secrets, which is truly a revelation..... What a brilliant insightful mind, encompassing -- encompassing math & physics (knitting reference work), myth, legend, linguistics, religion, sociology, etc. And what a knitter!!!

Are there more?

Interesting...I have been knitting for years and years without a good stitch dictionary, other than an ancient copy of the Vogue Knitting Book that I got from an elderly aunt. I had never heard of Barbara Walker until I saw her name popping up all over Ravelry. Then I was at Powell's and they had an entire cart of her knitting books, so I grabbed a copy of the Second Treasury. I don't think I would be interested in her other writing though.

There's Debbie Macomber. I've only read two of her books . They're good but I'm not crazy for the genre. They're not exactly romance. I don't know how you would classify them. I have several more of her books that I'll be reading this year.

Anyway , if you visit her website, you'll see that she is a real knitter. I don't think she designs, but I have several of her KAL books. I recommend them.
