Lotharia challenges herself to 50 in 2009

Beginning January 1, 2009 I am going to start reading the books on my bookshelf! I have probably read less than 50% of the books I own and my goal is to rectify that this new year!!

I would like to read the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings Trilogy, George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, Agatha Christie's mystery novels, Jane Austin classics, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Tiime series, Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, and many more I can't think of right now. I call myself a huge fantasy fan but I admit I have not read these books yet!!

I also want to read Le Morte d'Arthur and The Odyssey. I have a bunch of romance novels I have not yet read as well which will be tossed in when I need a break from the heavy reading I have set myself up for. I have a string of other books in my library that I'm going to try and include in my quest of 50.

In the next week I am going to go through my books and pick out the first 5 of the year and I'll post them on here. I am excited!

* so sad that I didn't actually read any of the books I wanted to but there's always next year

Good for you Lotharia, I am doing similar, 50 books over the year, all off my current bookshelves. Any new books I read can't be included in my 50 book count. I WILL move these books along. Good luck.

I see you'll be reading many of my favourite authors. Good luck on reaching those 50. I have pretty much the whole Pern series, I love them.
