Any thoughts on the recent announcement that Bill Amend is taking Foxtrot to Sundays only?

Pretty sad. On the other hand, I always felt Charles M. Schulz's later Peanuts strips weren't quite as good as his first ones, so perhaps a break might keep the comic strong. And the press release hinted at a Foxtrot TV special, which would be exciting.

Foxtrot was a generically good strip, which rarely broke character or took risks. Amend was probably running out of ideas, given his self-imposed limits. Can't say I miss it much.

I feel his Sunday ones were his weakest overall, so I was very sad to hear he was making the switch even as I could understand it.

The only upside is, I no longer have to buy the books when they come out now.
