Here goes- I predict some epic failure since I'm actually setting a goal for myself, but I want to actually do this, so maybe not.

Already read:
1. Persepolis
1/6/09 - 1/8/09
Very original and insightful: I really enjoyed this book.
2. Persepolis 2
1/8/09 - 1/9/09
I didn't like it as much as the first one, but it was still very good.
3. Passage
1/12/09 - 1/18/09
This is the third Connie Willis book I've read and I liked it almost as much as the first two. It was sad, though... after the second part ended I almost didn't want to read anymore. (I'm glad I did, though.)
4. Let the Right One In
2/3/09 - 2/6/09
Very strange... I liked it a lot. It went faster than I'd thought it would. The ending was very satisfying.
I'm just starting my Marie Antoinette biography and I plan to be placing a large Amazon order tomorrow (I don't know precisely of what, though), so hopefully I'll have plenty of things to read for the next few months... I need to pick up the pace here. >_>

You're doing just fine! I bought Persepolis on DVD (which I haven't watched yet), but I hear so many great things about the graphic novels that I may have to read them first. Loved Passage. I've also read the Doomsday Book and Lincoln's Dreams by Willis. Which others did you read read? Oh, and welcome to the 50 book challenge!

I have been wanting to place a large amazon order myself. However, now I have too many books on the list to order (from reading what everyone else is reading) so I can't order until I whittle it down. I love amazon!
Good luck with your reading challenge!

Yes, I did really like Persepolis... I'll have to remember to find the movie sometime.
As for Connie Willis, I've read Doomsday Book and To Say Nothing of the Dog. Lincoln's Dreams is on my to-read list.
I suppose I'll probably be able to make the goal... if I get way behind I can always use the summer to catch up. XD Hopefully.
And yeah, I'm placing my order tonight... I still have to do a lot of deciding about what I can live without at the moment, though...

I loved To Say Nothing of the Dog and some short stories of Willis's, and I liked Bellwether a lot, too. I have more Willis waiting on my shelves. A LibraryThing acquaintance, upon our discovering a mutual love of Connie Willis, offered this helpful info (including her favorite short stories, some more commentary on other works, and the fact that she has Willis' mailing address and that Willis will sign books for you if you include return postage):

I was looking at Let the Right One In at the bookstore this weekend. A friend of mine told me I should see the film while it was in town at the Angelika, but I assume I missed it (that was back in October).

Thanks for the link. By the looks of that thread I think I'll have quite a few more books to add to my reading list!
Well the next time you're in a bookstore I'd pick it up. I don't know if you'd agree with me, but I thought it was great. (Then again, with books I often find it hard to read them extremely critically... I'm not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing.)
5. Z for Zachariah
2/19/09 - 2/25/09
This is a re-read, even though when I read it for the last and only other time, I was in sixth grade. I think I got more out of it this time around... especially regarding a certain scene which shall not be mentioned and that also managed to cause a slight uproar during discussion of that chapter in my reading class. XD
This is definitely one of my favorite "young adult" (or whatever label you prefer) books.

So school pretty much prevented me from reading much during the past few months, and I don't even remember what I wanted to say about all the books I read. Oh well.
6. Marie Antoinette
2/10/09 - 4/12/09
Well this took me forever. I learned one thing though: don't attempt to read 400+ page works of non-fiction during the school year.
7. Hiroshima
? - 3/17/09
8. Chobits, Vol. 1
5/24/09
Including manga now! I'll probably never meet my goal otherwise...
9. Fruits Basket, Vol. 1
5/24/09
...also manga re-reads.
10. Fruits Basket, Vol. 2
5/24/09
11. Fruits Basket, Vol. 3
5/24/09
12. Fruits Basket, Vol. 4
5/24/09
13. Fruits Basket, Vol. 5
