see an interesting article in the current vanity Fair:

Discusses the younger "jewish" writersw despite the fact that some of them reject being pigeonholed.

Among those discussed I have thoroughly enjoyed the following books:

Foer's Everything Is Illuminated
Englander's The Ministry of Special cases
Krauss's The History of Love
Chabon's Kavalier and Clay
