Is anyone interested? Since I live in a fairly isolated section of the UK (the nearest bookstore worth of any sort of name is over an hour away) and the books are double the price, I buy all my stuff from amazon.com and have it shipped to my APO. I spend lots and lots and LOTS of time trolling for forth-coming novels by my favorite authors (sucessful), and trying to figure out who the new authors are (not so successful).

I have a giant list of forth-coming novels. Does anyone want to see it?

I have to note I don't like quite a few popular authors, so they are omitted, but I can find them if anyone has a special request...(are we reading bored housewife into this one? yes, yes, I think we are)

I forgot about this website when I was typing last night. It is truely excellent. They also have a backlist that's for something like five years.

Thanks for the list! There are a couple on there that look very interesting. I've already pre-ordered Dead Girls' Dance by Rachel Caine. I loved Glass Houses and can't wait to read her next one!

I added Demon's Delight to my amazon wish list too. I'm also very interested in No Humans Involved since Jeremy has been my favorite of Kelley Armstrong's characters yet.

I would love to learn more about Coyote Dreams and Dragon Heat, unfortunately amazon didn't have a book description or any reviews for either book. Do you know anything about them?

Here's what I know about Coyote Dreams & C.E. Murphy's publishing schedule:

This is a link to the complete cover of Coyote Dreams. Lemme know if you can get to it and I'll copy down what it says.

http://www.cemurphy.net/gallery/covers/coyote_cover

Here is C.E. Murphy's publishing schedule (straight off her blog):

The next Walker Papers novel will be out in 2009, with the following books in 2010 and 2011 (buh). In the *meantime*, the following books will be out (titles subject to change):

COYOTE DREAMS (Walker Papers #3, May 2007)

HEART OF STONE (Book One of the Negotiator Trilogy (?), November 2007)

HOUSE OF CARDS (Book Two of the above, March 2008)

THE QUEEN'S BASTARD (Book One of, er, no series title yet, May 2008)

HANDS OF CHANGE (Book Three of the Negotiator Trilogy, September 2008)

Good gawd. o.o

eta: from comments, it occurs to me to clarify: the Negotiator trilogy is an all-new urban fantasy series under the C.E. Murphy byline that will be put out from Luna in trade paperback. THE QUEEN'S BASTARD is my epic (sci-fantasy) thing from Del Rey; the second book of it will be out in 2009. :)

You can get to it all (with digging) at cemurphy.net

Here's what I know about Allyson James. The reason I got to her at all is because she is writing, under the name Jennifer Ashley, a collaboration with Joy Nash & Robin T. Popp. I like Robin T. Popp fairly well...thus the discovery.

Anyway, the books they're writing are the Immortals series...this seems to be similar to the Crimson City series in the sense that a few authors have created their world together and are running with it. The first is due out in May. & now I'm on a tangent.

Here's what I know about Dragon Heat:

Lisa Singleton has an unusual roomate, a golden dragon, a sexy warrior who has been sent to earth to protect Lisa from harm. Lisa comes from a long line of very special women with very special powers. Witches, black dragons, and demons will do anything to get their hands on her magic and the secret the women of her family have protected through the centuries. First of a new paranormal romance series.

The second in this series is due out in November.

On an uncertain note...I despise Jennifer Ashley's current series. I cannot stand the Nvengaria series. However, she writes fairly good love scenes and I think I might like her writing if it's not in a historical or quasi-historical context.

Thanks! I didn't realize Coyote Dreams was part of a series and Urban Shaman was already on my amazon wish list. Also very cool that she is a LT author. I'll probably order it with my next order or request it from the library when I'm done with my TBR pile.

Dragon Heat sounds very good! Another one for my ever growing wish list :-)

I love that series. I think Carrie Vaughn did really well on Kitty and the Midnight Hour for a first time novelist. I'm still trying to track down her short stories that include Kitty. The talk show is hilarious. :)

I read a rumor (if only I can remember where!) that there might be a new Sword and Sorceress book coming out. I know MZB died some time ago, but apparently the publisher has negotiated a continuation of the series. Does anyone know anything about this?

I can't remember where I read it now, but I heard the new Sword and Sorceress anthology is definitely happening. Ah, here's an article about it: http://scififantasyfiction.suite101.com/blog.cfm/sword_and_sorceress_revived

August 2007:
In addition to what's above

28 Dark Possession by Christine Feehan
1 Cast in Secret by Michelle Sagara
28 Hunting the Demon by Jaci Burton
28 Silver Master by Jayne Castle
7 Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
30 The Road to Hell by Jackie Kessler
28 Real Vamps Don't Drink O-Neg by Tawny Taylor
28 Double Dating with the Dead by Karen Kelley

I'm giving up on touchstone, it's stuck! Some of them are wrong. This is not a comprehensive list---just stuff I think I might be interested in when it comes out.

Right now I think the one I'm looking forward to the most is Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward. I guess many people have already received their copies but my pre-order from amazon probably won't show up until sometime in October. That's the price I pay (or not, as the case may be) for using free super saving shipping!

Jen,

I swear one of these days I'll get around to reading the first Ward book. I have it! It's been sitting on my shelf most patiently....

I really just need to stop going to the library and read the 500 or so books at home that I haven't read!

I'm right with you on the supersaver shipping. It's about the only savings around if you want a new release. I ordered Lover Unbound, and it has arrived. However, I'm holding off reading it until I've got some of my TBR pile down. I finished The Untamed One by Ronda Thompson and the Love at First Bite anthology, both of which were promptly put on bookmooch.

I've already started planning my preorders out through March. How pathetic is that? My spiral-bound is getting out of control, and my amazon wishlist is 28 pages long. Yikes! I'll try to add an updated list tomorrow. DH is working nights right now, so I'll have plenty of evening time. I'd do it now, but it's 3 am...

I've broken my amazon wishlist down into about four catagories, so it's not quite as scary now.

I was checking back through the posts and discovered that this is where I heard about Dragon Heat by Allyson James. I picked it up at Borders for my birthday and couldn't remember where I had heard about it. I know her next one of the series is coming out soon, November, I think.

Ilithyia - I really think you'll enjoy the J.R. Ward books. They get better as they go along. I know what you mean about library vs. tbr pile. I keep finding myself in that situation as well. I have books in my pile I really want to read but can't because I keep requesting books from the library *sigh*. I'm suffering from major self-control issues.
